Manual Lymphatic Drainage
Manual Lymphatic Drainage (MLD) is a gentle manual manipulation of the skin, not to be confused with massage, designed to encourage the natural movement of lymph fluid around the body. Our MLD therapist is certified in The Vodder Technique which is the original and most trusted method of MLD, created in the 1930’s by Dr. Emil Vodder.
Benefits of Lymphatic Drainage:
- Boosts Immune Function: The lymphatic system plays a key role in immune health. Manual Lymphatic Drainage (MLD) improves lymph flow, helping the body fight off infections more effectively.
- Assists Muscle Recovery: Helps reduce soreness and supports faster recovery from workouts or injuries.
- Reduces Swelling & Water Retention: Promotes lymph circulation todrain excess fluid from swollen areas like the legs, arms, or face. Especially beneficial after injury or surgery to relieve puffiness and discomfort.
- Supports Detoxification: Enhances the body’s natural ability to flush out waste and toxins.
- Promotes Healing: Improves the delivery of oxygen and nutrients to tissues while clearing waste, which speeds up the body’s healing process.
- Encourages Relaxation: The gentle, rhythmic technique soothes the nervous system and promotes a sense of calm.
- **Speeds Post-Surgical Recovery: Often used after cosmetic or medical procedures to reduce swelling, bruising and discomfort by improving fluid drainage in affected areas.
**We are currently not accepting any post-op cosmetic surgery clients at this time**
